What's the story with the user "greenllll"?

He filed a "Ripoff Report" for freebasic.net. (I only knew about it because I just got some spam in my email from a "reputation management" company.)

http://www.ripoffreport.com/r/Freebasic ... on-1121682

What he's describing sounds really strange and it doesn't look like he was banned. Maybe he is just having code page issues with his web browser or something? Can somebody look into this and help him out?

I don't know about him not being able to post or whatever, but the "junk code" he talks about sounds like the problem with code snippets in older posts having the parenthesis replaced by &#40 and &#41

Besides, we still have not had echo from admin about this problem.
See my last post about that: http://www.freebasic.net/forum/viewtopi ... 04#p194304

I can't find that user name in the forum's banned user list, so I have no idea why he can't make new posts. When logging in with a new account though, the first 3 posts must be accepted by a moderator before they'll become visible. (we enabled that a while ago to prevent spam posts)

The issue with parentheses being turned into HTML escape codes in old code blocks has been noticed by others too:
http://www.freebasic.net/forum/viewtopi ... 81#p194881
I suspect it happened due to some extra escaping done in the recent forum updates (v1ctor?) when the new code blocks were added, but I have no idea where to look or what to do about it.

Oh no, not hundreds of hours invested learning the freebasic compiler & language.
Actually, read the whole thing, it's really funny.

Here's the rebuttal I filed, but I would imagine greenllll will be too afraid of my over 5,000 posts to read it.
Don't you dare ever make money programming in FreeBASIC. Otherwise, I will make all of your code difficult to read and (EVEN WORSE!) hard to use, causing you to waste hundreds - no, thousands! - of hours spent learning the FreeBASIC compiler & language. And that's a conservative estimate.

File all of the ripoff reports you want. I will make your code difficult to read here, too. Because here, I also am a guru with over 5,000 posts due to how poorly the girl at the McDonald's down the street has been treating me lately. Her code, too, is now difficult to read and hard to use. It is also full of strange symbols she doesn't understand, due to her low comprehension of technology and inability to re-register to the McDonald's forum and ask questions about the strange symbols she now sees.

Everywhere.

Wherever you go, I will follow you. If you learn Java, I will remove your semi-colons. If you learn C++, I will remove your semi-colons. If you learn JavaScript... I will also remove your semi-colons. If you are in a car accident and are hit by a semi-truck and are also an organ donar, I will remove your semi-colon.

And believe me, I am true to my word.

No one has ever, ever filed a ripoff report against me.

Ever.

The () error on old posts should be fixed now.

No idea why the board used to convert those chars to ( and ) back then - the sources are stored like that in the data base.

Well, I got to 1800+ posts and hero status without touching FB. So in that light, what does "guru" say? That you can install FB? :-)

p.s. well, actually I did touch FB a few times, mostly while trying to get it to work on BSD in collaboration with sb on IRC.

@marcov

Heh. Yes, quantity <> quality.

There are at least 2 people who post here who don't use FB (the guru child is another). I wouldn't be touting the "without touching FB" part if I were you, but your posts are at least cogent and often pertinent. This is a compliment (@marcov) if that's not perfectly clear.

Oh my goodness. Just drop it, Zippy. You're one of a few people who for some reason always have something to say about me. I have no idea why, either. As far as I can tell, we work in entirely different areas of programming. If you have any merit, I doubt it even applies to what I do on a daily basis in my field.

The other eternal harrassers are John Spikowski (or whatever his name is/was) and now greenllll (apparently).

Sounds like a fun club to be in. You're in good company.

I suggest that instead of banning some poor sod straight off for some offence or whatever, they should just be demoted.

But in such a way that it follows the natural rules, that is, promotions tend come slowly on the way up a ladder of life, but on the way down they come quick.

(This is my own personal experience any hows)
