Re: Synthesis of vowels in human speech

@ D.J.Peters.
Well for demo purpose I used just two frequencies. The quality can be easily improved by using more components. That should give rich sounds. However that is besides the point for this demo.

Re: Separate subroutines in diferentes programs

Not sure, but I think this is possibly what you want Suppose you have the files: Dimensions.bas Declarations.bas Main.bas Subroutines.bas just include the other files in main.bas and compile main.bas #Include "dimensions.bas" #Include "declarations.bas" #Include "subroutines...

Re: The Lightning Thread (cont. from Electric Arcs)

@ dodicat

Do you mean some sort of capacitor .....

Using Capacitors is imaginary. It makes things complex. I would prefer it real

Re: The Lightning Thread (cont. from Electric Arcs)

@ anonymous1337 this I a great idea. Been wanting something like this for so long However instead of lightning threads may I suggest a more general thread such as SFX code or game physics which will include sub topics like lightning, explosions, collisions, smoke effects, laser effects, bullet physi...

Re: Need Help [Streaming Audio in Windows 7]

@ D.J.Peters Is your mother language nepali ? No its not Nepali. But great ... you managed to get close. The phonetic script used is actually Devanagari, which is used for writing many languages like Hindi, Marathi, Nepali,Sanskrit. And I did forget to mention in the zip file: You have to <select> t...

Re: Need Help [Streaming Audio in Windows 7]

@ D.J.Peters The third post possibly has some problem. The cause seems to be with waveOutGetPosition().
The app locks up a any moments. Seems like the one of the calls never return and application locks up.

Cheers.

Re: Need Help [Streaming Audio in Windows 7]

@D.J.Peters Can you give me the VB6 project in a zip file ? Sure. Just give time ( Should clean up the code some what) . But let warn you that the synthesis is phonetic 52+ letters (i.e what you say is what you read) . It is not based on the 26 letters of the English language. Using the phonetic lan...

Re: Need Help [Streaming Audio in Windows 7]

@D.J.Peters The hint is good
I am working on speech synthesis. The code happens to be in VB6 and I am thinking of converting it to Freebasic.
The VB6 results are encouraging and decent enough. The raw samples required are less than 5 MB.

Re: Need Help [Streaming Audio in Windows 7]

@ D.J.Peters .. many many thanks. The code works. I will spend some time studying the code. I did get a minor error in the function OUTDEVICE.create(...) which gave variable not declared WAVE_MAPPER Got rid of it by : #Define WAVE_MAPPER -1 wrong section ! Sorry ... Need Help [Streaming Audio in Windows 7]

I have written the following code to play audio from a file by loading the whole file in memory. I would like to convert it so that it loads small block (say 1024 byes) from the file and play it out. From what I understand I would need a circular buffer and also callback code. I am unable to locate ...
