#Define vs Const

I want to have a easy way to isolate bits of a byte. I tried using #define to name all the bits and the using a #define for a mask. This works. The other way is to use a Const for each bit of the byte. It also works. Does a #Define use more or less memory than a Const? Is a #Define faster than a Con...

Re: FB debugger : 2.96 32/64 BIT ..... (2020/02/17)

Since you already know where the array selected starts and ends why do you not have the delta correspond to the starting and ending of the array?

Re: FB debugger : 2.96 32/64 BIT ..... (2020/02/17)

Thanks that helped a lot.
I notice that when I dim my array from 1 to limit that delta does not start at 1 but always starts at 0 and goes past the limit value.

Re: FB debugger : 2.96 32/64 BIT ..... (2020/02/17)

I have a question that other people I am sure have already asked but did not find it in the forum. How do I view the contents of a dynamic array while stepping thru my code? I tried to use the "update" when selecting the array to view in the show/expand window but it does not change. What ...

Re: is there a *right* way to check for QNAN?

Fredsch, check my method that I use to detect "overflow" and "underflow" of any floating point number: #define NumOverflow 1e3000 #define NumUnderflow -1e3000 Dim Number as single 'could use double input "Number is = "; Number 'now test for overflow and underflow If Num...

Re: Automatic set ERR for error

Here is my solution to detect overflow and underflow of a floating point number: This solution requires no error handler or Err. #define NumOverflow 1e3000 #define NumUnderflow -1e3000 Dim Number as single 'could use double input "Number is = "; Number 'now test for overflow and underflow ...

Automatic set ERR for error

I read you have to use the -e compiler option to have support for error handling. Why doesn't Freebasic automatically set the value for ERR when a error occurs but not use it? This way a programmer can have a error occur and not have to have all the error handling support that, in some cases, uses a...

Re: FB debugger : 2.96 32/64 BIT ..... (2020/02/17)

I love your debugger. While using it I encountered the following problem. I recompiled a program that I have been working on and after recompiling it using the -g option I get the following error message when I attempt to load it and start the single-step of the debugger. This is the error I get: Th...

Re: FB debugger : 2.96 32/64 BIT ..... (2020/02/17)

Love your debugger.

I have tried to debug a freebasic program that I created. When I try to use your debugger I get the following at the beginning:

Title of window: Loading stabs

Error message:

ERROR When reading memory: 299 Exit loading.

Any ideas?
