Re: powerbasic.com went dark
Well PB hasn't been updated since Bob Zale died over 10 years ago. Looks like they decided to stop selling it after the Drake/TaxAct merge. I doubt they will let the domain name lapse though, it costs almost nothing to keep. It was just renewed in September.

Re: Facebook owns freebasic.com
Does that mean all subdomains are owned by Facebook meta? I am in charge of rapidq.phatcode.net, but that the website keeps going is a mystery to me. Also how to get https status on it. Thanks johnk Sorry for the confusion, yes I still own freebasic.net/phatcode.net so there is no problem there. I ...

Facebook owns freebasic.com
I was renewing the freebasic.net registration today and checked to see if freebasic.com was available. Apparently Facebook/Meta owns it. So I guess not lol.

Probably easier to just use DOSLFN. FB needs a pmode extender to run under DOS so it's already not "default DOS."

Re: OT - Destruction of QB64 forum and wiki
I have been hosting freebasic.net since 2005 and the site is regularly backed up.
A few years ago I offered to host QB64 for free but Fellippe said he wanted to handle things himself. I wish he had reached out to me instead of this weird RC Cola guy.

Re: Revamping the forum?
Either it's a setting, or a version issue. phpBB 3.3.5 does show results of code box text, including 3-character words. It's a configuration setting for MySql. I have to make the change on the server, reboot the server, and rebuild the index. I haven't got to it yet. What's new on this ? We cannot ...

Re: are there better AI algorithms for offline [non spam] chatbots?
There is an old book from 1988 titled "Exploring Natural Language Processing" by David Leithauser, which has BASIC code but it's old school spaghetti (line numbers, GOTO, etc). The algorithms also aren't very advanced by today's standards. There are a lot of current books on Natural Langua...
