Re: undefined reference to `LoadIconMetric'

BTW that function requires the use of an appropriate manifest because it is in commctrl.dll 6.0+ Eureka! After a lot of tries I got it it working. Means that I have now a working libcomctl32.dll.a which I can put in the repository with a push request. The problem was that the previous manuals here ...

Re: undefined reference to `LoadIconMetric'

I tried some things. First, the conditionals for LoadIconMetric are wrong (same is true for Shell_NotifyIcon). That was easy and i fixed that first before I even posted here. (I compile with #Define _WIN32_WINNT &h0602) But even if the functions are now declared, they get not found by the compil...

undefined reference to `LoadIconMetric'

Hello, LoadIconMetric is declared in the comctrl.bi, but the linker throws an error: undefined reference to `LoadIconMetric' I found that bugfix on the minGW repository: https://github.com/ctaggart/mingw-w64/commit/723bef4de85bc777a9391ce9acc42ebb25d5fc62 It seems that the FB libs are derived from t...

Re: What to do about a lack of developers for the compiler?

What have I to do to contribute at the wiki? I couldn't find a register page ... and by the way: on SF are 1.400 weekly downloads, that is far away from dead ...

Re: Any list of softwares made in fb?

The most common problem when writing new software is that there is an existing solution for almost every situation. I found a niche with an thread calculator for Mach3 (CNC Solution) where really nothing existed and I needed one. But its not a big niche: 500 downloads this year. The same is true for...

Re: What to do about a lack of developers for the compiler?

Slightly off-topic because I cannot contribute to the compiler, but answering to the question: I wrote parts of the windows-related stuff on freebasic-portal.de and its not that complicated to translate it to english, even if its a foreign language for me. I didn't simply because I have no idea if t...

Re: What to do about a lack of developers for the compiler?

I fixed the Drag&Drop Tutorial. It was only one minor declaration (iid ptr / REFIID) in the last step. Someone jumped straight ahead to the last example and that did not run. The examples 1-4 worked just fine and included all the scenarios except starting a drag with the FILEDESCRIPTOR, means co...

Re: What to do about a lack of developers for the compiler?

I do programming as a hobby, and even that only a few times a year on a wide range of topics, so that I simply don't have the deep knowledge to contribute to the compiler. The other problem is that I had something to contribute in the past and I was simply ignored, so the contribution management is ...

Re: FreeBasic 0.90.1 for ARM 6 / 7 devices.

I also checked the weekdayname() and monthname() functions, and they also output in englisch despite the Lang="de,DE" variable.

Re: FreeBasic 0.90.1 for ARM 6 / 7 devices.

Hello Joshy, I tried the current version. The current locale settings and the output of the little program. The same program on windows (DE settings) output the names translated to german and with the correct number format. In the bash, the "date" command prints a translated output, too, s...

Re: FreeBasic 0.90.1 for ARM 6 / 7 devices.

Thank you, programming for Raspberry is much easier for me in Freebasic. I just have one problem: format() doesn't work correctly, it doesn't check the locale settings, saying for germany it has to be Montag, Dienstag ... and "," instead of "." for the numbers, but I stubbornly g...

Re: FbEdit

I'm the one who created the tutorial at freebasic-portal.de. I found this thread because I wanted to know if there's anyone interested in it and it was mentioned. I work with FBEdit version 1.0.7.6c, which is the last one compiled at freebasic-portal.de . If there's actually a need, then I can trans...

Re: UDT with Constructors and Cast - Ambigious Call

The question is, if I have a datatype with all the Constructors and the Cast () as ... defined, can I access a function Cast([mydatatype],[any other]) ? Normally, if i have a "=" operation, with my datatype first, then the matching constructor is called and everything works fine. You can o...

Re: UDT with Constructors and Cast - Ambigious Call

Thank you so far. I intended to define a LET operator anyway (and did it in the extended example), but the Copy Constructor is new for me. Anything else I have to know? As far as I know, I can't access the Cast Operator with the syntax Cast(Ulonglongint, "[any other format]") ? Regards, St...

UDT with Constructors and Cast - Ambigious Call

Hello, I'm trying to write an UDT with a numeric member, which can be constructed from all FB datatypes and can be casted to all datatypes. But in this constellation, the compiler returns the error "Ambigious call to overloaded function" (datatype).constructor() in Return z (from any of th...
