Re: Can ScreenPtr stand for an image buffer?

There really seems to be no feature to get the number of defined screens, but there's a workaround: Dim value(100) As Integer ScreenRes 640,480,32,5 For x As Integer = 0 To UBound(value) ScreenSet x,x value(x) = ScreenPtr Next For x As Integer = 0 To UBound(value) Print x;" ";value(x) If v...

Re: Data Reduction Challenge

Another approach: This algorithm takes advantage of the special properties of the data of BasicCoder2's "blob scanner". It reduces the need of DATA space by more than 95% without any loss of information : Type pnt As Integer x As Integer y End Type Dim As pnt p1, p2, p3 Dim As UInteger bit...

Re: Basic GUI designer

@Gablea: Maybe this little snipet can help you, I use it in some of my own programmes. You can simply adapt it to your needs, with some slight changes it even works at the console window. Declare Function mouseMenu(text As String, separator As String = "", lin As Integer = 1, _ col As Inte...

Re: Data Reduction Challenge

Next trial! This routine reduces the data volume to 208 values. If you increase the upper 'x' limit to 15 you'll get only 151 values - with the corresponding loss of quality. Type pnt As Integer x As Integer y End Type Dim As pnt p1, p2, p3 ScreenRes 640,480,32 Dim As Integer count Dim As String fla...

Re: Data Reduction Challenge

Yes, it surely could be done better, but while working on it I had to realize that calculating the angles is not as easy as it seemed to be at the first view. Now I'm sitting here waiting for a brainwave...

Re: Data Reduction Challenge

Now it is cheaper and simpler to program a digital chip But even a digital chip (normally) needs a PCB board (at least I wouldn't recommend to connect SMD components by floating wiring). I wrote a little routine which reduces the data statements to about 1/3: Type pnt As Integer x As Integer y End ...

Re: Data Reduction Challenge

@BasicCoder2: Thank you for sharing your wisdom with me :-) . Normally I would use the HPGL outline file of the PCB software (KiCad at the moment) to operate the milling machine, but in some cases, when I'll only have a printed picture of the PCB board as a template, a traversing routine would be ve...

Is this tracing program open source? If so, I'd like to have a look at it, for I'm actually working on a homemade isolation milling CNC machine for producing PCB board prototypes.

Hi Roland!

Maybe you're looking for this: http://www.freebasic.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=19316

I've played around with it a little. stitchup.bas compiles if you add

Code: Select all

#include once "GL/gl.bi"
as first line of the code.

Re: Simple 3D model

There really is no compiler error, but I strongly recommend NOT to access an array beyond its defined boundaries, for this could have the same side effects as accessing an unallocated memory area by a pointer.
