Re: Around the Sphere build 2020-09-22

Hello! Unfortunately for me the program stops here: If FileExists(sFile) = 0 Then ' ... If bError <> False Then '? "Something went wrong" 'Sleep End -1 ' <--- End If The code editor must support UTF-8 format otherwise it will not decompress the base128 string properly.

Re: Around the Sphere build 2020-09-22

Small update: added now a bitmap font with anti aliasing for a better look. If you are interested have a look to the first post.

The bitmap is integrated into the code which should be unpacked and saved to the disk.

Re: Around the Sphere build 2020-09-17

Thanks you again dafhi for your contribution.

Meanwhile I finished also my depth of field simulation of the text pixels. imho, it's very simple but it looks nice, too (see 1st post).

Re: Around the Sphere build 2020-09-15

@dafhi: I had the same idea after I finished this part to make the circles blurry according to their z value. ^^ Anyhow, thanks for your version - very smooth movement. :-)

Around the Sphere build 2020-09-22

A 3D visualization of moving a text around a sphere. Thanks to dodicat for some functions which I've used. ^^ https://i.ibb.co/y4J8V5j/ATG.jpg 'Coded by UEZ build 2020-09-22 'Thanks to dodicat for some funtions I used from his code :-) and Martijn van Iersel for the CreateGradientSphere function. ^^...

Re: Endless loop.

My regulate function regulates regardless of 1 or 15.625 milliseconds sleep. Obviously. If you have 15.625 as sleep 1 then it will regulate to about 60 fps or whatever the max fps the machine can achieve. OK, so why when I am using '-fpu sse -arch 686 -gen gcc -Wc -O3' with gcc 8.3 (the fastest ver...

Re: Endless loop.

Looks very nice. I should also proceed from 2D to 3D stuff...

Maybe a scenario with trees and and a cloudy sky would better fit to the endless looping plane. ^^

Thanks for sharing.

This looks also very beautiful - it is more discreet in the background. I like it.

Re: Executable size 11x larger than C's?

Here my try to create a compiled exe as small as possible -> viewtopic.php?f=6&t=28543 (Windows only).,

Check out 9th post where I used Crinkler to crunch it to 2kb to produce this gfx:

Very nice, if I increase the size of pixels it looks better. It looks like a snowfall whereas the view is from bottom.
Cool.

done a few starfields myself. nebula effect looks amazing! might have a go with starfield later using my depth-of-field sim Looks very nice. I like this effect and I'm fascinated looking to this effect in the demos. For example: Rhodium by Virgill & Alcatraz -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s...

Re: Simple 3D Starfield build 2020-09-01

Hi UEZ. You are overdrawing each right half of the circle row by row. col.a = . . . has no effect on direct pixel transparency, so you are completely overdrawing. If you use pset then you can see partially the other half due to the alpha taking effect. Your nebula looks perfect without the half moo...

Thanks dodicat. It looks better now. :-) I added also a Nebula version. If you interested then have a look to the 1st post. ^^ Btw, I got a strange effect on the Circle function in line 259. It is not drawn as full closed circle but as half closed circle only although I didn't enter any value for th...

Re: Simple 3D Starfield build 2020-08-27

Nice dodicat.

I would add alpha channel to the color and make the objects on the z axis darken according to the distance. Far away = darkest, closest = brightest.

Btw, any idea how to create a Nebula background graphic generated by code?
