Re: SetUnhandledExceptionFilter in 64 bit

Well, this is going to be a bit of a lengthy explanation... First of all you must know the difference between a runtime error and a GPF (you may skip this section, if you already know all this) A runtime error is an error condition detected by the application itself. Such an error doesn´t necessaril...

Re: SetUnhandledExceptionFilter in 64 bit

@TeeEmCee Oh, OK. You do list win XP as supported Correct - i must change that. If you want to know, how i do this, then please drop me a mail at <jk-ide at t minus online dot de> (you can see the deciphered e-mail address in the help file under "Issues and Bugs" too). So we can discuss th...

Re: SetUnhandledExceptionFilter in 64 bit

@TeeEmCee

Win XP - i don´t have a Win XP box anymore, only Win 7 and Win 10, so this might cause the problem. Please try Win 7 or higher!

Re: SetUnhandledExceptionFilter in 64 bit

Please be patient until i have, what you could call a beta version for FreeBASIC! Because this IDE was originally written or PowerBASIC you must add "#compiler freebasic" as a first line to your code. The second line should be "#compile [gui|console] [exe|dll|lib] [32|64]" as sta...

Re: SetUnhandledExceptionFilter in 64 bit

Thanks for testing! Please keep in mind, that at current stage it is an unofficial pre-pre-release. I´m working on various aspects of implementing most of the features, which do work (without crashes) in PowerBASIC. Some things already work, at last for the code i used for testing. Some other things...

Compiling errors

Trying to compile the compiler with my IDE i get some error messages, which don´t make sense to me. Maybe someone could help and tell me, what´s wrong: FBC.TMP(976) error 3: Expected End-of-Line, found '.' in 'CXBECLINE += " -OUT:" + QUOTE + HSTRIPEXT(FBC.OUTNAME) + ".xbe" + QUOT...

Re: SetUnhandledExceptionFilter in 64 bit

@TMC

it already works in my latest version here, but i still have problems getting certain sources to compile without errors. Feel free to test.

You don´t need any additional library, it´s a feature of my IDE

Re: Set EOF

Of course killing and creating new is always an option, but, yes, "Print #..." does, what i was looking for. I tried "Write #..." and it added double quotes to my string data, this is, what i didn´t want either.

Thanks - problem solved

Set EOF

Reading the docs i miss something like "seteof(#filenumber)" in PowerBASIC. How can i ensure that an already existing file ends after some data i just wrote to it? In other words: I already have a file with let´s say 100 bytes of data. Now i change it´s content by writing 50 bytes of new d...

Assembler data

I need help with assembler syntax.

Please could somebody tell me, what is the FreeBASIC syntax for MASM: DB, DW, DD, DQ, DT, DDQ, and DO (as far as available in FreeBASIC).

"asm db 1" throws a compiler error, so how to code it (what is the correct syntax for this/these) ?

Thanks,

JK

Re: SetUnhandledExceptionFilter in 64 bit

@deltarho, i definitely owe you some beer! @all we are making progress - but maybe i should explain more what´s it all about: For PowerBASIC i added a feature "Compile (GPF)", which creates a special build, trapping GPFs and showing the offending line in the code editor with some informati...

Re: SetUnhandledExceptionFilter in 64 bit

Hi all, my name is Juergen Kuehlwein, i wrote an IDE for PowerBASIC and recently decided to add FreeBASIC support to it. I´m not new to coding in BASIC and other languages. but i´m a newbie to FreeBASIC, therefore i might have one or another question... Deltarho was kind enough to post my original q...
