Re: FLTK 1.3.3 C Wrapper Windows/Linux 32/64-bit.

@ Lothar Schirm, my user interface will be simple, some static images, but nothing fancy. I have the game battle simulation code already, but input is done in the code currently. With FLTK I can make a GUI so that others can use my problem. But going from a script to a program with a GUI is quite so...

Re: FLTK 1.3.3 C Wrapper Windows/Linux 32/64-bit.

Naming and typing all the class names makes it more clear for me to understand what I am doing (I hope). But maybe I should use var now, getting more and more variables. Basic GUI layout done, now to link with actual code... #include once "fltk-c.bi" sub ChoiceCB cdecl (byval self as Fl_Wi...

Re: FLTK 1.3.3 C Wrapper Windows/Linux 32/64-bit.

I think I am getting too old to learn something new. Which which pretty bad at the age of 37 :-) So I wanted a 'checkbox' GUI-element and checked by default. All GUI-toolkits have checkboxes, so shouldn't be too hard. Well, I couldn't find a checkbox example in the folder, so I googled for 'FLTK che...

Re: FLTK 1.3.3 C Wrapper Windows/Linux 32/64-bit.

Yes, that was the example I used, was looking for something shorter like: * Fl_ChoiceGetText(cho) But, I realized that I will probably have data I filled the menu / choice box with anyway in memory. Then it will be something like TextArray(Fl_ChoiceGetValue(cho)) and if I use the text elsewhere in t...

Re: FLTK 1.3.3 C Wrapper Windows/Linux 32/64-bit.

Question, there must be an easier way then this to get the text of an Fl_Choice selection?

Code: Select all

sub ChoiceCB cdecl (byval self as Fl_Widget ptr, byval cho as any ptr)
  print *Fl_Menu_GetMenu(cho)[Fl_ChoiceGetValue(cho)].text
end sub

Re: CIRCLE unclear?

I can imagine that the screens are confusing. It is probably because of the history of BASIC and maintaining compatibility with it now. In the old days, there was an actual difference between the console text screen and the graphics screens of different resolution and number of colors. Now everythin...

Re: FLTK 1.3.3 C Wrapper Windows/Linux 32/64-bit.

I'm trying to get FLTK working on under Ubuntu 14.04 64-bit with a 32-bit Freebasic 1.00.0 installation. Without #define syslib I get: ld: warning: libXft.so.2, needed by ./libfltk-c-1.3.3-32.so, not found (try using -rpath or -rpath-link) I located an libXft.so.2 in /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/ With ...

Re: BASIC!!

I expect that the speed difference between 'compiler languages' is small. 'just-in-time' compilers and interpreters like java, python, php, perl, etc. can be a lot slower and much more memory use. But often the speed is determined mostly by your own implementation of functionality and memory organiz...

Re: flow of fluid solver and volumen rendering

Nice, I always wanted to do something like this, but seemed so complicated.

Is this a Navier-Stokes equations solver, or a more simple simulation? How accurate is this for simulating e.g. water flow in a pipe?

Re: Loading Text

Or, keep it simple and print "LOADING" before loading files/bitmaps and print a "." (dot) after each file loaded. No additional thread needed. Less smooth, but gives a better indication of the progress. Alternatively, print a percentage after "LOADING" and update this p...

Re: Little puzzle for fun

According to the documentation (http://www.freebasic.net/wiki/wikka.php ... gRandomize), the seed is a double (2^64). I wonder if all the 2^64 values have a unique result.

edit: The answer is no. E.g.: 0, 0.2, 0.99 have the same result.

Re: so how do i start, newbie here

There is a difference between developing software for a mobile phone and developing software on a mobile phone. This http://www.b4x.com/b4a.html website mentions 'local compilation', but I can't find much information of that on the website. Most software for mobile phones is developed on PC's with a...
