Re: Sprite rotation

I have updated my old code (sprite rotation with bilinear interpolation) so that it can be used with transparency image (with &00FF00FF as transparent colour). const pi as double = 3.1415926535897932 const rad as double = 180 / pi union rgba_union dim as ulong v 'value type dim as ubyte b, g, r,...

Re: FBC's Cairo clock example error

Tried rotating fonts. I am going by results of google search for this, but the rotations seem very cpu hungry. Perhaps there is a better way. At 60 fps 34% load on 1 CPU-core here. Your energy calculation seems incorrect. The total energy in the system should be a constant. Do you include energy in...

Re: Bit strings ? ( "Bit string datatype" )

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but I post my today's bit exercise anyway: type bit_array redim as ulong buffer(any) '32 bit buffer dim as integer numBits declare sub addBit(bitValue as integer) declare sub setBit(bitIndex as integer, bitValue as integer) declare function getBit(bitInd...

Re: smart code formatter

Sound like fun. I can only give some advice on how to prevent it: 1) Always use an editor that shows white-space characters 2) Don't use tabs between statements (only for indentation) I had a productive evening yesterday as well. After 1 hour of coding, I accidentally deleted it all by pasting some ...

Re: Atom Breakout

I had read that some of the later classic breakout games used spin, so I put this on my to-do list. I have not given it much thought yet (until now). Static fraction can probably be ignored. The kinetic friction I expect to depend on normal force, contact area and some friction constant. This result...

Because of the overwhelming number of positive replies, I decided to make a GitHub version: https://github.com/verybadidea/Atom-Breakout
Which allows me to get familiar with GitHub as well.

Re: FBC's Cairo clock example error

GitHub account created. I'll play with a project of my own first. Git-clients tried so far from Ubuntu repository: * Giggle : Seems like a piece of crap, no useful help, absolutely no idea how use it. * gitg : Also seems like a piece of crap, on first run never ending stream of GTK errors, broken he...

Re: FBC's Cairo clock example error

I got about 8 MB in total of downloaded files, then at the last bit the terminal said: cairo latest version already installed, nothing to do. Needless to say cairo doesn't work. (32 bit OS) Then the stuff is probably installed, but the linker cannot find it. I might have the same issue with the 32-...

Re: Squares

The Redditt as a measure of ignorance sounds more appropriate to me.
I understand that the San Andreas movie scores high on the Redditt scale.
