Re: Large fonts in text mode

FB itself definitely can't > I ask this as I have some pc's that will run a FreeBASIC dos app in screen 0 > But will not display anything when using screenres settings Bad VESA ? > Basicly what I want to do is display the follo...

-gen GCC

http://www.freebasic.net/wiki/wikka.php?wakka=CompilerOptgen Note: the C emitter is a work in progress, incomplete, and certainly not bug free http://www.freebasic.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=188550#p188550 Yea, -gen gcc can be used to rebuild fbc itself. In fact I consider -gen gcc more stable than t...

Yeah 0.90 is out: http://www.freebasic.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21321 Thanks to dkl and all contributors :-) Any progress with the bloat-BUG http://www.freebasic.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=188564#p188564 (if it's not fixed in 0.90, can it be in 0.91 ? 0.99 ? 1.0 ?) ? > fbc no longer depends on libbf...

Re: New FB release coming up

There is another severe bloat-BUG with 0.90rc2 : the DOS/DGJPP EXE's are now 60 KiB bigger than with 0.24: Hello World simple 100 KiB -> 160 KiB Hello World AntiBloat ("cputs") 60 KiB -> 120 KiB I see the libs generously rearranged in 0.90 compared to 0.24 :-| See also: http://www.freebasi...

Re: New FB release coming up

can say fbc is bloated, because it could be smaller, if a big enough effort AFAIK the bloat of "fbc.exe" got significantly reduced since 0.21.1 :-) **************************************** FreeBASIC 0.18.5 to 0.90rc2 **************************************** "FreeBASIC-v0.18.5b-dos32....

http://sourceforge.net/p/fbc/code/ci/0.90.0rc2/tree/changelog.txt The size of binutils binaries annoys me aswell Maybe recompiling binutils for each target disabling as much features as possible? It is possible to get freebasic dos programs to work fast, but it will take some work to do so.
