Re: Freebasic is not smooth in graphics

... the 'BASIC' mindset ( doEverythingForMe() kind of coding). Of course I have the 'BASIC' mindset that is why I am using FreeBASIC instead of C++ :) I once used to use C++ with the Bloodshed Dev-C++ IDE which for a while had these "packages" that would install libraries for you....

Re: raylib headers

Inside the raylib-2.6.0-Win32-mingw zip, in the /bin folder, it's the binary (the .dll) you need. Dump it into the folder where the examples are. You should then be able to run them. Now it complains "The code execution cannot proceed because libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll was not found. Reinstalling the ...

Re: raylib headers

Where should I extract the raylib-2.6.0-Win32-migw folder to?
I extracted the raylib-fb-master folder to C:/FreeBASIC/

Ok thanks, although I am not sure which one of the 9 "assets" to download.

Re: Freebasic is not smooth in graphics

@paul doe At the time I thought it was just a ray tracing program. Do you see it as a substitute for fbgfx rather than SDL2? Also all those nice 3d models are not things I would be able to draw. I played around with Blender for a while but soon realised making all those 3d images and animations was ...

Re: Freebasic is not smooth in graphics

It would be nice to have extensive FreeBASIC tutorials for using OpenGL or SDL2.

Re: A simple miner program

I used fbImage in the posted examples because Postimage.org converts my .bmp images to .png images. I usually only use bitmaps. This is how I converted the right walking sprites to left walking sprites on this particular sprite sheet. screenres 512,128,32 'screen size of desired resulting sheetmap b...

Re: A simple miner program

The miner walks a bit like Michael Jackson now, ... Of course you are concentrating on the game code and better animations can always be added later should you so desire. Although i have used floating point positioning in other programs in this case I am locking the frames to exact pixel positions....

Re: A simple miner program

I use a different system for timing thing. I'll try to post an example of this later. Ok. Always interested in how others go about it. Just trying to keep the code simple. Usually I would just use the timer as shown below. Again postimage.org changes the underscore to a minus sign which FB will not...

Re: A simple miner program

Yes it can get messy dealing with states and conditions. I am thinking about how to manage it better.
Have used dodicat's regulator function for timing... is that any better? See first post.
I have been working on better images and ways of managing the animations.

A simple miner program

Here is another simple miner game code but this time using 64x64 tiles and a single sprite plus scrolling. Use cursor keys to move left/right or climb up/down a ladder" Hold down space bar at the same time as pressing an arrow key to work the drill" Tap [b] key to build a ladder at current...

Re: Simple Miner Game Demo

@badidea
Thanks for the suggestion. I have changed it all to multikey.
Not sure why the image was renamed miner-Sheet. I uploaded minerSheet.png to Postimage.org. Perhaps it was in conflict with another image that had been uploaded.
