Re: [offtopic]Refugees here in germany

At least Germany is taking them. The US has this idea that they will become terrorists, yet we say we are the land of the free. Probably more will code in FB

Re: Excel helper wrapper

This gives me an error trying to download off OneDrive (I refer to it as NoneDrive).
Since it is a .bas file could you please put it in a 'code box' in this thread?
Thanks

Re: Basic Forge Project

I'm OldBasic, I'm going to finish this project anyway I see that it is not very convincing in its current state :-( Don't get me wrong. It would be nice to have rapidq-like components to FB. But why lock to Windows API when the focus is cross platform? It would be nice if FB has some non-GUI compon...

Re: Basic Forge Project

I really would like a rapidq-like port from Freebasic. However, this project appears to be a windows only port. If that is the case then I assume you are extending some of the code from Don H or from Eodor. FreeQ IDEa is one of several that already supports making Windows GUI code in Freebasic. http...

Re: Cairo-1.10.2 (32/64 bit)

Again, maybe this is not the right thread for this discussion. Basically I want FB to have a powerful GUI (at least have one relatively native GUI) that is well supported. After working for years with RapidQ, I know it can be made VERY simple for the programmer and the end user. After all shouldn't ...

Re: Cairo-1.10.2 (32/64 bit)

I just wanted to test the library, NOT spend my time, resolving dependencies ... Maybe this is not the right thread for this but, sorry so many GUI/Graphics (especially GTK) packages are just the reason why I despise cross platform GUI coding. I really don't care if I am a beginner or not, installi...

Re: FLTK C Wrapper (Fast Light Toolkit v 1.3.2)

I have been thinking of a RapidQ to FB translator for some time (and I am not the only one). Certainly FLTK provides a good base for the rich RapidQ GUI library. But then it is a bit crazy? Think two translation stages from RQ to -> FLTK C-wrapper -> FLTK lib ->target. As I learn more about FLTK thi...

Re: FLTK C Wrapper (Fast Light Toolkit v 1.3.2)

This lib is really great. I was trying sample code (win 32-bit) and noticed that some code failed to fully quit and stayed in the background: Fl_commonDialogs.exe flOpenUri.exe [edit] I feel very stupid now. I compiled -s gui and the PRINT and SLEEP that kept the process in the background. Keep codi...

Re: Is there a DataGrid control in freebasic ?

There is a StringGrid component that works from the FreeQ IDE form designer However it is windows only http://rapidq.phatcode.net/grid_example_fb.jpg This is in the zip file 'StringGrid.zip' in the FormDesigner folder There are more demos in the FB-demos folder -from the FormDesigner folder, copy th...

Re: MiniB3d for FreeBasic

I am interested in this project, especially since it supports the marching cubes algo. When I go to the sourceforge page I only see one demo file (this still tries to load the older minib3d.bi file). Is there a better collection of sample code for this project? All these different FB 3D libraries ar...

Re: The ONLY complains about FreeBasic and FB comunity

I don't think it is complicated at all. A FTP directory filled with folders holding *working* examples and code snippets would be great. That is how I have set up rapidq.phatcode.net. I often go to the site, search through code that helps me complete my task. For the FB community, the hard part woul...

Ja. Diese Seite sieht gut aus. Allerdings bin ich ein Deutsch dum Kopf. Google übersetzen Werke zwar gut.
Eines Tages wird es unter Freebasic Mitglieder freigegebene Ordner werden.

Re: FreeBASIC group on Facebook

IMHO, facebook is really for friends sharing *stuff*. This forum is a much better format for sharing code. What I would like for Freebasic.net to have a set of web-open shared folders for holding sample code, screen shots, libraries, GUI, and IDEs and the like all in one site (for example rapidq.pha...

Re: FreeQ IDEa another IDE supporting FreeBasic

A new update of FreeQ is posted at
http://rapidq.phatcode.net/FreeQ/

Think I finally fixed that annoying Access violation error at startup. I did not change the version number since the fix was very minor. Let me know if any issues come up.

JohnK out.
