On DOS, you will probably have the best luck with a packet driver ( http://www.crynwr.com/drivers/ is probably a good starting point) and something like Watt-32 ( http://www.bgnett.no/~giva/ ). However - and this is the part you don't want to hear - nobody else (as far as I know) has done this with ...

I redownloaded the file from the first post (updated, I guess? the exe is different at least), but it still crashes in the same way.

It's crashing inside NTDLL somewhere, in RtlFreeThreadActivationContextStack; I'd assume it's some kind of race condition in the shutdown code (maybe in FBSound?). There are no symbols, but I don't see anything useful in the backtrace anyway (the stack is corrupted).

It launches fine here (32-bit Vista Ultimate, AMD Athlon x2 4200+, 2 GB RAM), but it crashes when I hit Esc at the main menu.

FreeBASIC worked somewhat on ReactOS the last time I tried (around 0.3.5 release), but if it doesn't, then it's a ReactOS bug... remember that even the ReactOS developers label it as "alpha".

As far as I can tell, this is a bug of the Microsoft mouse driver; if you're using that, please try CuteMouse or another driver and check if the problem still persists.

Dylibload returns Any Ptr, not Integer, so the type of Xdll should be Any Ptr.

There doesn't seem to be any KEYEVENTF_KEYDOWN mentioned in the MSDN page ( http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms646304.aspx ) for keybd_event, so I doubt it is defined in the MS headers either.

You're not allocating enough space, for one thing: pFont = allocate(sizeOf(Byte) * Lof(f) / 5) Why divide by 5? Each character is 5 bytes...oops, I was thinking of something else. But that shouldn't have been a problem with the first characters I tested, because I put about 7 letters in (35 bytes)....

I tried extracting this on my Linux system, and found the zip contained a tar(?!?), which GNU tar 1.20 extracted, but complained "tar: A lone zero block at 394", so I don't know if it's really extracted correctly or not. GNU TAR is unusable (well know fact, working on a better one). MD5.BAS is supp...

It crashes here for me with a SIGSEGV as soon as I hit a key at the input prompt with DOSBox 0.72; it seems to be crashing inside __dpmi_int in __dpmi_yield, but I don't see any reason why it should. Could be a DOSBox bug, as I can't reproduce it elsewhere. For some reason a selector value (the erro...

I committed a small fix in r4993 to reset the lock count too; I'm not sure that this code really belongs in the Win32 driver anyway, though, and if the user has left the screen locked on exit, that's a bug in the user's code, and we should probably inform him somehow (print an error message on the c...
