Re: Cheat prevetion for Ubytes

If anyone should be taken to task for deciding what is appropriate or not then that should be me because that is exactly what I did in my initial post. Does doing something also give people the privilege of deciding whether or not something is appropriate? I guess mrminecraft can decide their posti...

Re: Cheat prevetion for Ubytes

comments like deltarho's pushing people away Actually, deltarho was right. Source code without any explanation are wasting our precious time. If your time was really so precious, you could just skip over a thread you don't find valuable. If we wanted to set subforum rules that posts in Tips & T...

Re: What programs can translate C to freebasic?

badidea:

We have FreeBASIC that can run in the web browser / to JavaScript. We have FreeBASIC to C and LLVM. The FB runtime is written in C (and C++?)

C is a simple language. I'm honestly surprised this isn't a thing yet :)

Re: Cheat prevetion for Ubytes

@anonymous1337 That would send a message that the style of the opening post was perfectly acceptable. I'm not saying anything about the opening post. Just your own behaviors. It is worth noting that nobody else has 'had a go' at me suggesting a silent agreement with what I wrote. This forum has lik...

Re: Cheat prevetion for Ubytes

I don't think we can afford to be rude to contributors at this point. I would normally favour a diplomatic approach but sometimes a short, sharp shock is the better tack. Okay, so since you like a sharp shock, how about this? If I was a mod, comments that don't actually contribute toward threads an...

Re: Cheat prevetion for Ubytes

@mrminecrafttnt If I had my way I would delete your post and send you a message advising that this is a peer support forum and not a source code repository. I would then say that if any code was posted again without any explanation then it also would be deleted only no message would be sent on that...

Re: Sourceforge vs. GetHub Hosting

We use BitBucket for work. I'm assuming because it's from Atlassian and we use their project management software (JIRA) to log time and do billing.

Re: Thoughts on moving things to Reddit?

What he means by "paying for it with our data" is that the very content we post to reddit and the information attached to that (user data) is sold to pay for the site and make a profit. Anything that big data can glean and attach value to is used. In short when you use reddit, you and you...

Re: Thoughts on moving things to Reddit?

Hi anonymous1337. As said above, for some reasons Reddit tends not to display well. For me there is most of time a delay with a face or something. And I hardly can go further. It's a shame because the stuff hosted there is often of great interest. Don't you get this experience from your side? Oh, t...

Thoughts on moving things to Reddit?

I appreciate us having our own site, and I realize Reddit isn't quite the same, but... isn't it? Full of features as well... Wouldn't have to rely on someone to host the site. Reddit is free.

Thoughts? https://www.reddit.com/r/freebasic/

Re: C-like for() statement using macros

Excuse the formatting. I'm using https://www.jdoodle.com/execute-freebasic-online to write and test this with. I'd consider 6 levels deep sufficient for most programs. If you're using this to assist with automated conversions, I would consider it... #macro CFOR(start, cond, step) #ifndef CNEXT_ #macro...
