### Re: Chess game

First a macro that is used in the display routine. #Macro move_2_str(num) (Chr(num Mod 10 + 96) + Chr(num \ 10 + 47)) #EndMacro After level 4 I still have trouble with castling when castling is a allowed, when at the start no castling is allowed the is no problem. I didn't expect quite such a marked...

### Re: Greater distance between consecutive primes.

for lrcvs. read careful. from wiki Primality of one Most early Greeks did not even consider 1 to be a number, and so they did not consider it a prime. In the 19th century however, many mathematicians did consider the number 1 a prime. For example, Derrick Norman Lehmer's list of primes up to 10,006,...

### Re: Chess game

Programming a stable chess engine that plays a legal game consistently is not easy (certainly for an amateur hobbyist like me). But since at least 2009 I am confident that Numpty is fundamentally bug free in terms of move generation and basic search (eg it plays regularly without problem in compute...

### Re: Conjecture of Goldbach (simulation)

The following method requires a few seconds less, but it found only 586199 sets. I have not determined the reason for the discrepancy. Integer Your problem is that you have some double counts. In some entry's p2 is bigger then p3 mostly the last entry before p1 changes. I have produced all possibil...

### Re: Question

Question: Because with the number 65565, the program does not work or is very, very slow? If it works well. fast with the numbers: 65564 and 65566 Note: 65656 is not a prime number, possibly either because it is odd and has three loops? No wonder, your function to check for prime does not work corr...

### Re: Arbitrarily Big Integer Routines

stephanbrunker First some rather small things not very important. Dim As Integer i, sign, sum, carry = 0 , dim sets a variable automatic to 0 so carry = 0 is not necessary, you can drop the = 0 part. Constructor bigint (ByRef a As String) Dim As Integer p, i, j, ch, blocks, sign If InStr(a, "-&...

colors & fonts I will try to clarify some issue with colors & fonts 1. I start the editor, all colors and fonts are as I want them to be. 2. I decide to change a color say the background color of the comment's. 3. I open the colors & fonts window. 4. It opens showing the fore and backgr...

### Re: windows Multi-language Editor ( English;French;Spanish)

Compile option. I'm not a fan of the option -v when invoking the compiler (in fact I have never used it). I try to get rid of it but it seems to be hard coded into the editor. Is there a way to remove it? I think, you can switch off Display Results in Compiler Results in Compiler Options and Paths....

### Re: windows Multi-language Editor ( English;French;Spanish)

Marpon Here a few more things I found. In a ASM … END ASM block the assembler command SUB also messes up indentation. Colors and fonts I have the colors and fonts nearly as I want them but I noticed that when start the editor the colors are correct, but when I open “colors and fonts” the default bac...

### Re: windows Multi-language Editor ( English;French;Spanish)

Marpon Thank you for the new version but I have still some issue with setting the colors and I found some new things that aren't quit right. The editor seems to reset default background color to white, I had changed the color in the ini file. (I could get it right with "color and fonts). Worked...
