Re: FreeBASIC 1.07 Release Discussion

For me it happens only with DirectX driver, only with 1.07.2, and only on Win10. My guess is that this new bug may have appeared trying to fix this other windows gfx bug: Graphics screens are not displayed in Windows 10 Japanese environment Can you try this work-around? Set the driver for GDI before...

Yes, exactly. Thank-you for collecting everything there.

"dedicated page for qb screen statement" was added back in 2009.
@counting_pine, do you remember the reason? I feel like one page for screen should be good.

Re: FreeBASIC 1.07 Release Discussion

When I use this code in x64 mode then the window is not top most after start - it is behind the code editor @UEZ, top window not in front -- is this a new bug in this release, or was always a problem? Is it only when the app is run from the IDE? on Raspbian OS (latest version) the keyboard does not...

Re: FreeBASIC 1.08 Development

HI erik, welcome to the forum. volatile: https://github.com/freebasic/fbc/issues/253 is that you? For gcc backend this is maybe not too painful -- and likely the intended first use?. For gas x86 and gas64 backends, I'm not sure it would make a difference since the optimizer is per statement only. '_...

fxm, you are the best! If it weren't for your help I'm sure I would forget to document ... everything. :)

There's an old post about some missing docs. Exe formats and gfx formats. Do you mind re-posting that? Plus any new stuff? I'll do my best to fill in some details.

but i can't get... declare function _paddb cdecl alias "__builtin_ia32_paddb" (as v8qi, as v8qi) as v8qi to work because of the type v8qi will end as different declarations This capability exists partially, and only as a starting point for further development in fbc as "mangle modifi...

Re: FreeBASIC 1.08 Development

In my dreams freebasic has edit & continue. Unfortunately there are many obstacles to overcome to get there. Making fbc into a DLL is not that hard. Rather than a "main" executable entry point that parses command line options, provide an alternate procedure entry point that does the sa...

Re: Where can I get a Recent-Git-Build of FreeBASIC?

Will all present changes of the current version 1.08 be included in future version 1.07.2? In the documentation, should we refer to 1.07.2 as delimiter rather than 1.08? 1.07.2 is a small set of changes cherry picked from 1.08, in a separate branch of the project. The intent of 1.07.2 release is th...

Re: What happened to the Emscripten branch?

The updates (by angros47) are now merged in with fbc/master what will be the 1.08.0 release. The changes do not include the hack I made for running on windows. Even though this what I would call a work in progress, it can make a usable product with some effort. St_W, I have not tested how portable t...

Re: Where can I get a Recent-Git-Build of FreeBASIC?

At some point in time we definitely should get rid of supporting older compilers. It's up to you to define that day, I'll update the build systems then :-) Indeed. A couple of weeks ago I built a full release version for the Raspberry PI. - RPI 3 (32-bit) Raspbian 9 - w/ gcc 6.3 - RPI 4 (64-bit) Ub...

Re: What happened to the Emscripten branch?

I sent you the file, let me know if it has arrived. I got the the file, thank-you. Just working on this now. I made a couple of tests and I feel OK to merge this in to current fbc/master. Obviously anyone wanting to try this out is going to need to take some extra steps until we figure out how to b...
