I would agree, better collision is needed. I think right now you collide when all three of your ship's points are inside an asteroid. It should be any point that make you explode. Also, an explosion or some kind of pause when you crash.

The demo and asteroid game doesn't render inside the window borders, but on my desktop starting at the top-left corner. When I end the program, the image stays there until I clean it by passing a window over it. Anybody else have this problem? Edit: Thanks for this Rel. I can now think of graduating...

The only thing I can think of is that you are either confusing text mode coordinates with graphics mode coordinates. In text mode, displaying a text at (5,5) using Locate would be (40,40) in graphics mode. Try a high number like (200,200). If you've tried that, then I can't think of anything. Maybe ...

I might have better luck just updating the original 4.0 headers since they are very similar.

Updating Allegro headers

I've never written any headers from C libs before, but I really want to update the Allegro headers to a more recent version, from the current 4.0 to maybe 4.4.x, so I'll be volunteering to do this. I already know about h_2_bi currently being developed and tried it out, but I'll need some time until ...

You have to declare every variable unless you use the -lang qb compile option:

And if you need the background blue, you need to modify a few things: DECLARE FUNCTION Do_Mouse () AS INTEGER DECLARE SUB Draw_Stuff () 'Dim Variables Const LEFTBUTTON = 1 Const MIDDLEBUTTON = 4 Const RIGHTBUTTON = 2 Const SHOWMOUSE = 1 Const HIDEMOUSE = 0 Dim CanExit As Integer Dim ...

Here's an idea for handling the mouse: DECLARE FUNCTION Do_Mouse () AS INTEGER 'Dim Variables Dim x As Integer, y As Integer, text1 As String text1 = "Login" x = 380 y = 110 Const LEFTBUTTON = 1 Const MIDDLEBUTTON = 4 Const RIGHTBUTTON = 2 Const SHOWMOUSE = 1 Const HIDEMOUSE = 0 Di...

Your welcome ;)

Just saw a minor error. Change my line routine from this:

Line (SCR_W - (SCR_W \ 4),i*Box_H) - (800,(i+1) * Box_H), Box_Colors(i), BF

to this:

Line (SCR_W - (SCR_W \ 4), i*Box_H) - (SCR_W-1 , (i+1) * Box_H), Box_Colors(i), BF

Just make some pre-calculations based on the screen size: dim AS INTEGER SCR_W = 800, SCR_H = 600 DIM AS INTEGER Boxes = 8 DIM AS INTEGER Box_H = SCR_H \ Boxes DIM AS INTEGER Box_Colors(0 to Boxes - 1) Box_Colors(0) = RGB(30,30,30) Box_Colors(1) = RGB(60,60,60)...
