Re: New IDE:vfb(Visual Freebasic),Like vb6,vb7

Can we get a slightly friendlier download option? I don't want to have to create a QQ or WeChat account to download.

Moved to Projects. As to wanting to put links in several places, that is not how we do things here. One topic is good enough.

Re: Why did you choose FreeBASIC?

I was in highschool when FB was first released. I was using QB for my own hobby stuff at the time and I thought FB was a great idea. I was learning VB 6 in highschool at the time. I went to college and used many other languages, and was very good with them, but I was never as comfortable with them a...

I saw this post and thought it was quite interesting. I did not post. That does not mean I don't care. I can't be alone in that.

How do those stack up against the built in sine and cosine functions in FB?

Re: Could someone make a list of FreeBASIC GUI libraries/frameworks?

...Search e.g. on unit or module system on this forum. It is not the first time (I brought it^H^H^H^H ) it came up. Searching that on the forum just brought up a post from a while back of you saying there "search the forum for unit system or module system" so that was not terribly helpful...

Re: font won't change

From the documentation on WIDTH : In graphics modes Width is used to indirectly select the font size by setting one of the character height * width pairs allowed (See Screen (Graphics)). If rows / cols is an invalid combination, no changes are made to the screen display. Valid font heights are 8 pix...

Cutting some legacy QB features won't fix much.

I am curious about this. Can you point me to a resource on the header based compilation model and alternatives?

Re: Could someone make a list of FreeBASIC GUI libraries/frameworks?

But yes, the dialect is a kind of 'Frankenstein Monster' at the moment. The real problem is simply one of too much baggage : while still maintaining some degree of 'compatibility' with its root language (QB) is nice, I think that the days of prioritizing compatibility over progress are long gone, a...

I downloaded window9 yesterday from here but couldn't get the examples to work without compiler errors. https://sourceforge.net/projects/guiwindow9/ No luck here either. And I don't want to go through all the pages here (at the moment): https://freebasic.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=17058 It ...

Re: Could someone make a list of FreeBASIC GUI libraries/frameworks?

I have reached out to JohnK_RQ with a request to edit his post.
@jj2007: Could you please edit yours so that I don't have to remove the quote there as well?

If these are not removed in a couple days, I will remove them myself.
