Re: fbc-ng
It is the holographic (distributed) nature of the FreeBasic source code that prevents it being patched up to allow dynamic arrays in objects, isn't it?

Re: C BASIC
I see it as an idea being sketched out. I don't think it is being presented as a finished product. Presumably a light weight compiler is the next step, if that should seem like a good idea. Being able to use C libraries directly is a big advantage. Making .bi files is a joyless task. I kinda liked t...

Re: C BASIC
Don't know why you can't talk about Basic on a website about Basic. Some sort of hybridization of C and Basic seems like a good idea to me. However pre-processing statements have a very negative effect on the readability of C source code. I personally think a programming language should have a rich ...

Re: C BASIC
The most useful aspect of FreeBasic is the ability to read other people's code and understand it immediately. This is in sharp contrast to every other programming language I know of. It is very easy to see exactly where even long loop and if statements end due to the particular syntax. It is a pity ...

Re: C BASIC
I'm interested. Does it work with Pelles C? I guess there is no reference material to read at this stage.
I would at least like to look at a good amount of source code in C Basic to see what it is like.

Re: Infinity FOR-cycle bug
My own view is that a programming language needs to be consistent about how it handles number ranges. My preference is that all number ranges be inclusive. Sadly I don't know of a programming language that is consistent about it. For some functions and operators the range is inclusive-exclusive at t...
