Re: GDSL Problem
Can anyone tell me what's going wrong with my program here? It should print numbers from 50 down to 1, but some zeros are showing up (and obviously shouldn't be). Thanks, Livewire I don't have the dll necessary to test gdsl so it is hard to tell what goes wrong. From what I can tell SizeOf(Integer)...

You can fix the mistake if you're registered on the wiki :-) I don't know, anonymous1337. I am going to register on the wiki (no doubt) but English is my second language. Reading a text in English is usually no problem for me and I can find small spelling-mistakes in an English text. But when it co...

What to do with small mistakes in the manual?
I use the FB manual very often and every now and then I find a mistake in the manual. What should I do when I find one? Should I just post it here, in this thread, or do something else to report the 'mistake' ? I'm asking this because posting a 'bug report' on a typo/spelling-mistake (because that's...

Re: Puppy Linux FreeBASIC how to
Puppy Linux is run as a live cd (you can install it if you want but I didn't),it runs in the ram. You don't even need a hard drive to try it but to use FreeBasic you'll want one or a USB flash drive (I use a 1GB flash drive). Open the browser and go to ftp://ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/pupp...

I found the statement that makes stretch_blit crash. set_color_depth(32) Any other value for set_color_depth will work (8/16/24). So stretch_blit does work but not (yet) with set_color_depth(32). [Edit] I got the first demo to work at 16 - bits - color. It does not look right because the program use...
It works in FB, just not in your specific FB code =P Those were my thoughts exactly when my FB - program didn't work. And that was why I didn't try to get the whole program to work but just tested: - putpixel - _putpixel32 - blit and of course - stretch_blit I'll try once more. If it works in FB th...
It would appear as though 'stretch_blit' doesn't work in FB. Other than that, there seem to be other issues with the port, I haven't taken a good look at it yet I took a good look at the fb - source, changed what needed to be changed and still no result. Then I just tried to put some pixels on the ...

It's no fun to have to type a lot every time you changed something in one source - file? Well, type fbc myprogram.bas in command line and if it gives errors, fix them in text-editor and press up-arrow and you have fbc myprog.bas there again ;) :) Right you are. For a project consisting of one sourc...

Re: LINUX GUI editor.
Hi yeehi, If you are wishing to malke xwindow progs, My understanding is that FreeBASIC will do it. If your looking for a xwindow editor and debugger, the best I can find for LINUX is the BlueFish editor. How about Geany? It has got FreeBASIC - syntax - highlighting. Don't let the lack of a debugge...
It would appear as though 'stretch_blit' doesn't work in FB. Other than that, there seem to be other issues with the port, I haven't taken a good look at it yet, but here's on that stuck out: If (c > 185) Then c = 185 _putpixel32(back, x, y, pal(c)) End If should be: If (c > 185) Then c = 185 End I...

I'm going to try either of the following two options: -- Build me a LiveCD that contains FreeBASIC and the latest version of Insight. I hope that everything will fit into ram because if it will then I've got some sort of an interpreter. The biggest problem here is disksize of course (as the contents...
I finished my FB - version of the fire - demo a couple of days ago. And now I have put it online. The link: One thing... is doesn't work (yet). First I had some problems with the dll I was using (wrong version) so I renamed the allegro - dll I had (allegro42.dll). The program crashed with allegro42....
