Game Engine Black Book DOOM

Post by badidea »

I just downloaded a 400 page book in PDF form. A very interesting work for those interested in computer hardware in the 90's and every detail of the game DOOM. Link: http://fabiensanglard.net/gebbdoom/ The PDF can be freely downloaded (~200MB), but you can send a paypal gift if you want.

Thanks. Looks very good.
I found a chapter on the question of subpixel accuracy:
Subpixel Accuracy
It is worth mentioning that the engine is subpixel-accurate when calculating the screencoordinates of a wall’s top and bottom edges. Subpixel accuracy is a subtle concept, the advantages of which are best demonstrated with an animated screen.
