Yes, nightmarish memories ... I had to suffer it for some month at work, while I secretly was using a real programming language in parallel to find solutions, and then -- if possible -- translate them back.

Yes I used QB for a few years until V1ctor released the first version of FB =) I had a good time with the Qmunity, though I dont miss the memory limitations of QB =)

Yup :)

Came with Windows 98/XP. How I started programming. I'm much younger than most of you old farts, though.

I can't believe those sites are still (semi) up.
qb45, petesqb, qbasicnews etc.

Plasma your name sounds familiar though I can only seem to remember Jofers, Fling-Master and wildcard atm.

I used to get around most limitations with interrupts :)

Yes! Q45 beginning 1989, four years later Turbo Pascal 6.0, later again back to QB45. Since 2006 I use FreeBASIC instead (and also PureBasic, but I like FreeBasic more, it is closer to my roots.)

Used to be Plasma357. If you don't remember then you must be an imposter! :P

If you want to throw some old names around we can talk about Jorden, Smoky, Blitz, Toonski before he was Jofers, Piptol, Rel, Nek (my nemesis lol), Angelo Mottola, The Car, Marcade, WisdomDude, Jocke the Beast, Lachie, Darkdread, Syn9, Toshi, Optimus, Lithium, Sumo Jo, Sterling Christensen, Barok (not Obama), CGI Joe before he was Generic, Zkman, SJ Zero, 19day, Gopus, Terminator_Z, Alias, Seav, Tek, Skarab, and Pasco :)

Apologies to any OG's I left out :P

I'm around since 2002.

Rel is still also here occasionally. Joe King was not so long ago in my forum. Yeah, most are gone from the community, but I'm friends with some of them on Facebook. People like WisdomDude, syn9, Lithium, SJ Zero, ...

I was a great and very prolific community from about 1999 up to 2003/2004 in game dev sense, what initially attracted me. I came somewhat after the zenith, but it remained a fun place to be for quite a while.

I'm still trying to beat the game dev horse from time to time with my website and game making competitions, and it's not all unrewarding.

Plasma357, yes I do remember you and quite a few of those you've listed.
Back then I was known as Nuclear Frognik. (eww)
I remember "hacking" the old-old qb45 forum and making myself a mod :)

The past few years in my spare time I do some coding in FB and debugging in OllyDbg which is mainly for making MMO game hacks and doing things to programs that you really shouldn't be doing ^^
