After a short look at sourceforge, I'm observing with some surprise that there is not too much submitted stuff there under the freebasic banner. I'm quite convinced anyway that plenty of things that are softwares made in fb, or very close to deserve this name, or even utilities, exist and are having a life all around the world, with plenty of users, so I find we could start some listing.
Besides that, I'm not quite sure of what could be the purest fb masterpiece ever created (left aside the fb compiler rendition itself maybe), and I'm very curious to get the answer. What I know for sure is that there are plenty of competitors in all kinds of domains. And not only free softwares and games, but also commercial stuff in many branches of the industry or the science. I know that a user in this forum working in some administration at a cartography office has shared a youtube video of a quite nice piece of work just some weeks ago, but I can't remember the name of it for now. So anyway, fb entered the administrations.
Without any claim of completion (or I wouldn't ask the question of the topic) I can try to start with a few things met around this forum that I can remember at this moment:
- eschecs (rolland chastaing)
- sobrango (luis babionni)
- Pos (gablea)
- Jasc Soccer (Pitto)
I'm quite convinced that Sobrango, the chess engine made by Babionni (ouch I'm not sure this is the good author name, sorry), has a real footprint in its domain. Even if the domain itself is quite a restricted one with a few specialist with very special skills. Whatever that's made in FB and fully functional, and that's what I'm looking for.
Thanks for the reading. If you have any example of any kind, let's share it.
