Re: Darkreader
It's true that it is a shame that we not only hurt our eyes by over consumption of hot white blank screens, but also simply over consume energy. I mean collectively. There should be a black screen day in the world, just to get a measure of what difference it makes on any of those 2 domains. Ok... not really black, just darker...deltarho[1859] wrote:If you have not seen this then give it a try. Works on Chrome and Firefox.

It's usually not true that a black/darker screen saves energy compared to a white screen (except if you turn it off completely ;-) or still use an old CRT monitor rather than a LCD monitor).Tourist Trap wrote:It's true that it is a shame that we not only hurt our eyes by over consumption of hot white blank screens, but also simply over consume energy. But if it's easier on your eyes that's already a very good reason to use it.

Re: Darkreader
I used to have a friend with a modern tv screen (a pioneer not to cite the brand). I used also to play with the menu and a function was named energy saver or something like this. As far as I remember, when activated the screen turned quite grey in comparison to its others modes. Was it lcd I don't know, but not a crt for sure.St_W wrote: It's usually not true that a black/darker screen saves energy compared to a white screen (except if you turn it off completely ;-) or still use an old CRT monitor rather than a LCD monitor).
