I know what you mean. The cheapest one I bought at full retail was a book about add-ins for VB. It is only 160 pages and cost $40 bucks. Most of the books I have cost around $50 to $60 bucks.

I added the Static keyword to the variable chapter as well as mentions to Extern, Import and Common which will covered later in the book. I also added a section on pointers to pointers in the pointer chapter.

See first post for updated link.

By the way, I think I've found a mistake on page 33:
"DEFDOUBLE" should be "DEFDBL".

Well the book is officially 100 pages long now. I crossed the milestone in the middle of chapter 10. Only 100 more to go. :)

It is beginning to look like this book may actually reach 300 pages. I am already pushing 150 pages, and I still have several chapters to go yet.

Right now I am working on the date, time and format functions, and this chapter is already the largest I have in the book. The upcoming chapters cover other nitty gritty details too, like file handling, which is bound to be quite a few pages, considering the scope of the subject. (It will probably end up as more than one chapter).

Anyway, it may be a while for the next update (which will contain a lot of new content), but I am plugging away.

I did not get as much done as I wanted to this week, but I did manage to add some more content. I also added an experimental html version to my website. This is an html export from OO Writer, and while it isn't too bad, it needs some work.

You can find both links in the first post.
