phantom usb drive

Post by srvaldez »

I have a PC with a Rosewill Gaming ATX Full Tower Computer Case, what I like about it is the front panel USB and Esata connections
well, this morning I tried to connect a USB stick and there was a problem so I just pulled it out now I have a phantom drive that just won't go away
I did a full system restore from about two weeks ago but the phantom drive was still there, so it suggested to me that the interface must be damaged
then I asked google and it gave me https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/win ... e4dde3f000
it recommends using USBDeview but uninstalling the phantom device would not last, so I finally launched USBDeview as administrator and disconnected the device, now it's gone (I hope)
the USB interface seems to be working OK
