fbdoc exporter

Postby etko » Aug 14, 2008 14:56

Hi guys,

from search I concluded you use fbdoc exporter to generate chm files. Is there more info on this tool or its source code? Where can I get it? I would like to experiment with wiki as help file authoring tool in same way as you are, and automatically generate the chm. Thx for the reply.

The fbdoc source code can be found as a module in the FB SVN repository. ( http://fbc.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/fbc/trunk/fbdocs/ )

I have never built/used it, so coderJeff will be able to give you much more gory details than I can. (He wrote it)

The fbdoc program is a tool that is very specific to our wiki. It reads the wakka script (the format used by the wiki) and converts it to html. The html is then compiled as a CHM (by hhc.exe).

In addition to the usual wiki formatting codes, we have also extended the wiki to support several actions that assist in the formatting/conversion process. For a list of all the "special" actions see here:
http://www.freebasic.net/wiki/wikka.php ... bdocAction

I know it to compile and work on Linux and Win32 using 0.20.0 release.
