I wanted to share with you guys my new FreeBasic math racing game that I'm launching soon on Steam. The concept is pretty simple, you drive a car and have to solve math problems as you race to the finish line. The faster you solve the problems, the faster your car goes. It currently only has race tracks for basic addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication but I'm hoping to add more advanced math if there is enough interest.
Previous races are recorded and played back as opponents in future races so that you can race yourself and watch your own improvement in real-time. The game also has a split-screen multiplayer mode.
The graphics are in a classic pixel art style and the game is easy to pick up and play. It's releasing to Steam on Feb 15, 2023
Would love to hear what you guys think!

MathCar: Educational Racing Game
Re: MathCar: Educational Racing Game
I like this. On the sales page I think it might help to promote what age range this is intended for. The promoted media demonstrates that the mathematics are simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. I remember being introduced to these operations completely around age 6 in first grade and having many drill practices in second grade to get solid with them. This is a niche market. Do you have plans for more educational games?
Re: MathCar: Educational Racing Game
That is a good idea, in its current state it's definitely best suited for younger children. I'm planning to add fractions and simple algebra problems as well as more complex multiplication and division that would help it reach a larger audience.sero wrote: ↑Feb 01, 2023 22:14 I like this. Yes, if this one goes well I'm hoping to work on a language learning or music theory game.
