FreeBASIC listed as one of the best Free Linux compilers

Post by AGS »

I came across an article on FreeBASIC (Linux version).

A link to the article:
http://www.linuxlinks.com/article/20090 ... BASIC.html

Apparently FreeBASIC (Linux version) is listed on linuxlinks.com as one of the best Free Linux compilers.

A list of 8 of the best Free Linux compilers looks
like so:

1. GCC
2. Open64
3. g95
4. clang
5. llvm
6. FreePASCAL
7. Haskell
8. FreeBASIC

I hope the above info has not been mentioned elsewhere on the forum (the info is a bit dated).

And... a round of applause for the FB development team for creating a BASIC compiler that´s regarded as one of the best Free Linux compilers.

A year ago FreeBASIC was listed at this Linux benchmark site http://shootout.alioth.debian.org/
amongst the fastest. Yetifoot and I had fun submitting some sources for the benchmarks.
I don't know why they have dropped FB, perhaps because of the lack of new releases?
