I don't wish to install all that (to build fbc) on my Windows 10 laptop.
Where can I get a Recent-Git-Build of FreeBASIC?
Re: Where can I get a Recent-Git-Build of FreeBASIC?
- The full release builds which create a clean build environment and run all tests take hours to complete (though they are scripted to help automation).
- In my development environment, I am building debug versions, which likely are only of interest to other developers, but then they are building their own versions, so no point in uploading debug versions, imho.
Topic page is quite rough ATM: coderJeff's Personal FreeBASIC BuildsIf I could have a private link to binary standalone builds for Windows (32-bit, 64-bit) when the St_W's builds are broken, that would be wonderful for my documentation updates!
I've written some scripts that will help build and update a patch but is far from automated. I could post my own release build sometimes.
Short instructions are:
- start with a clean fbc - winlibs - gcc-9.3 install
- unpack the binary patch file and copy over
Re: Where can I get a Recent-Git-Build of FreeBASIC?
Thanks, it works fine from FreeBASIC-1.09.0-winlibs-gcc-9.3.0.7z - 32bit and 64bit combined version (fbc32.exe & fbc64.exe).coderJeff wrote: ↑Jul 16, 2022 18:05 Topic page is quite rough ATM: coderJeff's Personal FreeBASIC Builds

Re: Where can I get a Recent-Git-Build of FreeBASIC?
That would be a good idea, especially when the St_W's builds do not work (just the build problem of the manual.chm will remain).coderJeff wrote: ↑Jul 16, 2022 18:05 Topic page is quite rough ATM: coderJeff's Personal FreeBASIC Builds

Re: Where can I get a Recent-Git-Build of FreeBASIC?
I've got automated builds setup
https://ci.appveyor.com/project/adeyblu ... /artifacts
It will push to
https://github.com/adeyblue/FBBuilder/releases
when I've finished setting it up
I've got to finish setting it up properly so committing the wiki page cache to the repo doesn't trigger the build too.
Since these are built on Ubuntu, the manual is built with chmcmd and it complains about things. The pages it complains about exist in the output and they look ok though so who knows whether its being oversensitive.
It'll check every day at 10am UTC since idk what timezone Jeff is in but that's probabky after he's gone to bed

Re: Where can I get a Recent-Git-Build of FreeBASIC?
Regarding the status of my CI build machine: I went there this weekend and had a look and indeed internet connection is currently broken due to the construction work going on there. That means it will be offline for some time (several weeks probably) .
I saw adeyblue is working on a replacement system based on AppVeyor, that's great news. (cloud service - much more reliable) The only thing that it probably can't replace so easily are the DOS / FreeBSD builds (except there are cross-compilers?), but I guess those have not really been used by anybody anyways.
Looks like my system will be obsolete by the time internet connectivity will be restored and I can put it to rest soon.

hello St_W
I will certainly miss your site and your builds, I hope that you will keep it up

But only 'fbc.exe' and one truncated 'lib' directory ?adeyblue wrote: ↑Jul 17, 2022 14:52 It will push to

Re: Where can I get a Recent-Git-Build of FreeBASIC?
You're right. I won't bother.
Re: Where can I get a Recent-Git-Build of FreeBASIC?
Ouch. That will leave a mark. I started reading your solution before I went to work this morning. It's a good read. Please accept my sincerest apologies. You had produced a large number of complex and potentially useful works for fb and I don't prioritize well.
Re: Where can I get a Recent-Git-Build of FreeBASIC?
With the help of Jeff I can now create an uptodate manual when necessary.
Version 2022/08/01 : https://users.freebasic-portal.de/sarg/fbdoc.chm
As the build of the manual is not automaticaly made feel free to signal me if I forget to update it.

Re: Where can I get a Recent-Git-Build of FreeBASIC?
Often, for security reasons, the .CHM file you want to open is blocked. You will need to unlock it to see the contents of .CHM files.
Please try this step and let us know if it works:
1. Right click on the .CHM you want to open and click on Properties.
2. Under the General tab, check the option called Unblock.
3. Click on Apply and OK.
Hope this helps.

Could you update the 'fbdoc.chm' file ?SARG wrote: ↑Aug 01, 2022 22:20 With the help of Jeff I can now create an uptodate manual when necessary.
